A FEW MUST-SEE SITES TO DISCOVER 

Visit the Château de Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, the former fortress of Richard the Lionheart, built in 1020 on a rocky promontory overlooking the town.  

Les Sables d'Olonne zoo, a short distance from the beaches, will enable you to discover nearly 500 exotic animals, such as lions, Amur leopards, pandas, penguins, monkeys, giraffes etc. 

Les Salines, just a short distance from the town, offers you a stroll in the heart of the Olonne marshes, for a short, timeless outing. Penotte Island, a few metres from the embankment of Les Sables-d'Olonne, offers a pretty pedestrian area made up of narrow streets decorated with varieties of hollyhocks. 

The Château des Aventuriers in Avrillé, is an 86-hectare adventure park. Its attractions for all ages, puzzle trails, interactive investigations, haunted house, and activities for kids make it an ideal place for family outings.

From the Veillon beach to Les Sables-d'Olonne, the Vendée coast offers you 5 km of exceptional and breathtaking landscapes. See a number of curious or unusual authentic sites, interspersed with forests and cliffs which are characteristic of the French regions bordering the Atlantic. 

If you are looking for an exceptional viewpoint to admire the bay of Les Sables-d'Olonne, visit the Arundel Tower. Must-see sites during your stay in Les Sables-d'Olonne also include the Prieuré Saint-Nicolas and its esplanade overlooking the ocean. This site offers you a magnificent view of the ocean as it crashes against the surrounding rocks and cliffs. 

Also admire the marshes along the coast between the towns of L'Ile d'Olonne and Les Sables. You can also enjoy a visit on foot, by bike, boat, stand-up paddleboard or even by canoe. The coastal landscapes of the Côte Sauvage are being enhanced through nature protection and access for walkers to this lush countryside. 

Green hiking trails are available to explore the hinterland of Les Sables-d'Olonne, in particular the paths of Le Tanchet, L'Épinette, Saint-Jean d'Orbestier, Moulin Saint-Jean, and the rampart walk.

A WELCOMING REGION WITH A RICH CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE 

The town of Les Sables-d'Olonne has always been a special welcoming place for culture and heritage enthusiasts. Visit the castles and monuments that make the town a favourite destination due to its historical heritage and its numerous cultural activities

Explore the magnificent typical lanes of the town centre, as a couple or with your family or friends. Simply learn about the cultural heritage of the town by strolling through the exhibitions at the Abbey of Sainte Croix. Similarly, the Abbey of Saint-Jean-d'Orbestier, a former Benedictine monastery built opposite the sea, near the L'Océan campsite in Les Sables-d'Olonne, will enable you to discover the originality of its architecture. 

You can also visit the Shellfish Museum in the former Post Office hotel. The authentic and prestigious Saint Peter’s Church is a fine example of the neo-Byzantine style, with an interior featuring sumptuous furniture and mosaics, in the centre of the Bouts de Ville district. Don’t miss the Phare de la Potence lighthouse, which is 20.20 metres high and was built in 1874 to the south-east of the port of Les Sables-d'Olonne. For more modern buildings, visit the Maison Palazzo Clementina 1919, Le Remblai, a large seaside villa which shows the emerging wave of eclecticism towards the end of the 19th century.

Super campsite, warm welcome and top mobile homes. Complete play area and very friendly park. Mobile home with all mod cons, dishwasher and air conditioning. The reception service is super and pleasant.

Super holiday, spacious mobile homes, indoor heated swimming pool. Restaurants top on all the dishes offered as well as the snack bar. The children's playground is incredible, a children's paradise. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Great campsite, great family holidays, there's something for all ages, the pool area is great and perfect, the outdoor play area is great, and the indoor football pitch is a real bonus.

The entertainment team is top notch, the welcome perfect and the cleaning staff ultra pleasant. Thank you for this great holiday!
